I used a laser to align the shafts, which requires small washers to raise the height to the correct level. The coupling is plastic and you can't get it tight enough on the shaft. (Keeps slipping) Adjusting the rollers on the gain mill is critical. Just the slightest jam will cause the motor to stop and overheat, then you have to wait for it to cool down, take the grain out of the mill, recheck the rollers, which are fine, (Works well with the manual crank arm). Shaft should have a flat end and/or keyway which would allow a proper connection. Coupling should have been metal. I would recommend a "Lovejoy" coupling, (I'm going to try and order one to see if it works better--if it does I will update my review.) I'm a mechanical engineer in the HVAC business, so mechanical and electrical wiring are easy for me. I just can't get it to work correctly. I would not recommend unless they make some quality improvements.
