Fermented with Still Spirits Distiller’s Range Whiskey Yeast (included), this wash develops a smooth, well-rounded bourbon character. Still Spirits Turbo Clear is also included to ensure a clean fermentation before distillation. With an OG of 1.096 and a ABV of 12.5%, this kit is designed to produce 5 gallons of wash, ready for distillation into a bold, flavorful bourbon-style whiskey.
To ensure efficient fermentation and full sugar conversion, this kit includes:
- Glucoamylase Enzyme (12g) – Added during fermentation to break down complex sugars for maximum fermentability.

More About Bourbon-Style Whiskey
Bourbon is a distinctly American whiskey, traditionally made with a mash bill of at least 51% corn and aged in new charred oak barrels. Known for its rich, smooth, and slightly sweet profile, bourbon develops deep caramel, vanilla, and spice flavors over time.
Whisky vs. Whiskey: What’s the Difference?
The difference between whisky and whiskey primarily comes down to geography and tradition:
- Whisky (no "e") – Used in Scotland, Canada, and Japan.
- Whiskey (with "e") – Used in Ireland and the United States.
Why the Difference?
The spelling variation dates back to the 19th century, when Irish distillers added an "e" to distinguish their whiskey from Scottish whisky. This convention was later adopted by American distillers.
