Notes : Scotland is famous for its malty, strong ales. This yeast can reproduce complex, flavorful Scottish style ales. This yeast can be an everyday strain, similar to White Labs 001. Hop character is not muted with this strain, as it is with White Labs 002.

Can’t review it until the beer is gulley fermented and kegged. Ask me in four weeks and I can give an honest review.

Working good..., so far!!

Bought this as a recommended yeast for a "kit" beer. I paid for the ice-pack in shipment, but my package arrived on a Monday, so it was totally melted and warm by the time I got it. I sent a note to the AIH guys worried that it was ruined. They suggested I make a yeast starter, which I did 2 days before brew-day. It was obvious the yeast was still very good from the starter, and only 9 hrs after pitching into 5.5 gal batch I had explosive fermentation begin (foam in, and all the way through, a 1 1/4 inch blow-off hose about 4 feet long on a 6.5 gal fermenter!). Still fermenting in the secondary 23 days after pitching on brew-day! Can't give a 5-star because batch not yet completed....
