Excellent Cream Ale

I brewed this Apricot Cream Ale as per instructions. This has been one of the most liked brews that I've made. Nice aroma and taste. I'll definitely have to brew some more of this.

First Brew. First Success.

Thumbs up for this brew. I made this as my first brew and I am not disappointed. On the contrary, I'm quite impressed with the results. I followed the directions to the letter and although I was nervous as to whether or not I pitched the yeast correctly after not seeing any activity in the airlock after the first 14 hours, I was happily surprised to see it bubbling away around the 24 hour mark. (I used the Wyeast liquid.) After about a week and a half in the primary there wasn't much visible yeast activity. I held off and bottled after the full two weeks. I ended up bottling a case without the flavoring extract (strawberry) and a case with. I admit that I was skeptical about the flavoring extract and was wondering for the last two weeks if I should have skipped adding it. Needless to say, I'm glad I didn't. Both versions came out excellent. Granted, this is a cream ale so it's taste profile is unobtrusive and very sessionable- especially for commercial beer drinkers. As my first brew, I was hoping for something at least "drinkable" but at the same time expecting it to be a loss. (I figured I screwed something up along the way.) Now, after having tried them extensively, I'm eager to share a few of these with some coworkers and friends. This kit is definitely worth a try for beginning brewers and those looking for a good summer beer to drink. I'll be trying the peach ale next. Cheers.
