Perfect g30 companion

this heater was meant to go with a grainfather G30. The capacity and precision temperature control works perfectly with their app. When the app tells you to heat sparge water it means with this device. I could see you running short of HLT water if you're brewing on a much large G70 system, but with the G30 or G40 you shouldn't have any issues. Check a big gravity beer to see if large grain rinses take more than 18L, but I haven't ran into any issues yet.

Works Great

I removed the plastic valve and sight tube assembly and installed a proper valve. Then I insulated the outside of the kettle and now have an All In One unit for BIAB brewing. It easily boils 4 gallons of wort. Outstanding deal for the $50 sale price.

Simplifies brew day!

Got an AMAZING price on the Grandfather Sparge Water heater during the last sale and man does it help simplify my brew day. Just fill it with the required spare, set the temp, and let it heat and hold on it’s own! Thanks guys!

Great

This is really just a large coffee urn with a thermostat control, but it is great at what it does, and a lot more convenient than boiling several pots of water on the stove.

Best Next To Your Own DIY

I built my own sparge tank for under $100 and it temped up way quicker, yet I believe this is the best one money can buy. I only bought this because I'm the tin-foil-hat type that doesn't want an Igloo plastic and epoxy tank leaching into my organic grains every time I brew. Look, the best thing to consider is your outlet bearing at max 1800 watts. If you're electric brewing with a Grain Father or Edge Brewer, over half is taken, and you'll trip the circuit or power strip if they're both on the same connection.
