Vanilla Porter

You guys are doing an awesome job. This Porter is great, especially when you add two more vanilla beans.

Tastes great, but vanilla faint

This was my first brew ever and it went great. The kits from AIH are well packaged and instructions quite clear. I cut and scraped the vanilla beans, then soaked everything in a tiny amount of bourbon for 3 days to make a tincture (and sanitize the beans), then added when transferring to the secondary. I went 14 days in the secondary just to infuse as much vanilla as possible. Despite all of that, the vanilla flavor is too faint for my personal preference. Besides that, overall, the porter tastes awesome, especially for my first brew ever. I'd brew again, but would need double the vanilla.

Great

Cracked the first bottle tonight. Used the Omega British Ale Yeast, very active high foam in primary fermentation, leave head room in fermenter. Nice aroma, smooth, just a little bitterness, not too heavy. Would definitely brew again.

Vanilla

Vanilla beans were broken in pieces. Couldn't split and scrape like I had read to do before adding to fermentation. Too skinny! Not sure if they are always like this? First time using them. Other than that 5*****.
