One of our most popular recipes in the shop! This is our take on cloning the very popular Bell's IPA. The recipe includes 2-row and light crystal malts, as well as four ounces of Centennial hops (one for dry hopping!). It has an original gravity of 1.067, and is 6.49% by volume using our recommended "Chico ale yeast", or now listed as American Ale Yeast from the drop-down options on the page.

One of the simplest and best

It's kind of criminal how easy this recipe is. I picked up 3 when on sale as I usually make it at least 3 times a year. However, I shared with homebrew buds where we did an experiment - all brewed same day on our own systems and brought to a club meeting just to see the differences. Was a fun thing to do; all folks enjoyed it.

Thumbs up

The reaction from friends and family has been excellent. As the beer ages it is only getting better!

Good numbers the only issue I have is that the centennial hops are 4.9 alpha (I was expecting around a 10 alpha) so they were more like a cascade. Not much hoppiness.

Haven't made it yet- but it was missing instructions & grains were crushed. Will review when I make it. Contractors have been slow to hook up 220 V & new plumbing!
