Really nice for casual gallon brews

I like to experiment with never more than one gallon and I live in a very small apartment. This is really convenient for fermenting. The spigot makes transferring to secondary or bottles super easy and clean and it doesn’t disturb the sediment like an autosiphon wiggling around. And the wide mouth lets me plop a wifi hydrometer in there to track fermentation. I imagine all the head space isn’t great for minimizing oxidizing, but I am not into that level of perfection.

The plastic top was not in good condition and had to be tinkered with

I was excited to find a glass fermenter with a siphon online. (There are no other options in this size that I could find.) The problem was the plastic lid had almost completely fused to the jar at an odd angle. I tried several methods to get it off which did not work. Finally, I turned the jar over and soaked it in very hot (not boiling water) for 10 minutes to loosen the plastic so I could get the lid off without damaging it. I was afraid it would be permanently warped, but, it seems fine now.
I was really impressed with customer service at Adventures in Homebrew. They wrapped my package really well so the glass fermented did not break during shipping and they promptly replied to my questions about how to fix the warped plastic lid.

Wait and see

I love the size and ease in placing them in my over the counter thermal cupboard.
Still doing my 1st ferment, so time will tell!
