Fermentis SafLager™ E-30 was developed in response to growing demand across Southeast Asia for more expressive, estery rice lagers. This lager yeast strain was selected specifically for crafting aromatic and fruit-forward beers, bringing a bold twist to traditional bottom-fermenting yeast behavior. With higher ester production than other SafLager strains—particularly fruity esters—it offers brewers a reliable tool for creating standout lagers with unique character and clarity. Suitable for a wide range of styles from rice lagers to juicy IPLs, it performs well even at slightly elevated fermentation temperatures.
Fermentis SafLager E-30 Yeast Features:
- Fermentation Temperature: 53.6–64.4°F (12–18°C)
- Apparent Attenuation: 80–84%
- Flocculation: Medium
- Sedimentation: Medium (forms a powdery haze, no clumping)
- Esters: High, prominent fruity notes, especially banana at elevated temps
- Low sulfur and diacetyl production
- More attenuative than S-33 and S-189
