This recipe uses modern ingredients to create a well-rounded porter that fits perfectly into the BJCP's guidelines of a Pre-Prohibition Porter. This is a White Labs recipe that was featured on the April 7th, 2020 National Beer Day's Virtual Brew Day.

Second time I’ve ordered this. Love this recipe! Easy to brew and you end up with a smooth, nice [****].
I made this porter with hopes it would be similar to Yard's Washington's porter from Philadelphia. To my surprise it was! It has a very dark , complex taste with hints of dried fruits. I think part of it is the molasses added just before the end of the boil, which is in Yard's Washington's porter as well. I also added an alcohol booster, so the abv. was close between the two.
