Cider House Select Pear Cider Making Kit (5.3 lb)

This is a good cider to make when you can't get fresh cider. I have made several of these and the positive points are they finish really quick and you can adjust the sweetness. One negative is that they smell kind of odd. I think it is due to the yeast nutrient. But if you let it rest for two weeks that smell will clear and you'll have a tasty cider. When it's not apple cider season, these are a great alternative.

Cider House kits are very easy to make and taste great. My favorite is the pear.

The pear offsets the tartness you can get from apple, making it not overwhelmingly sweet for a cider. I add a bottle of wine in a secondary for a nice Rose' cider.

I use this with 5 gal of apple juice instead of water and make a hard carbonated cider. The flavor enhancer you add at the end makes the difference. 5 stars even if it's a little pricey.
