This ale highlights all the great flavor and drink-ability of traditional Mexican lagers but can be fermented in the same amount of time as an ale. A large amount of Flaked Maize adds to the south-of-the-border taste and the Motueka hops contribute subtle, pleasant notes of lime and lemon. This is a wonderful beer for any Cinco de Mayo party!

Specialty malts: Crystal 10, Flaked Maize, 6 Row Malt
Featured hops: Motueka

I fermented this one with S-33 since it was a recommended yeast on the recipe page and I had a pack in the fridge that I ended up not using for another beer. The ale yeast complemented the light lime flavor you get from the Motueka hops. This was the first time I had used Motueka and it won't be the last for any of my lagers or lager-like ales. A great summer beer that goes well with or without a lime wedge!
