Yellow Tilt Hydrometer and Thermometer

Designed specifically for homebrewers, the Tilt Hydrometer & Thermometer monitors both the specific gravity and temperature of your batch while its fermenting without having to open your fermenter and waste your beer for test samples, allowing you to brew more consistent batches of beer and makes each batch much easier to track. Using the Tilt App (Available Here!) you can instantly check on your batches readings using an Apple iPhone/iPad or Android smartphone/tablet. Designed with a high precision temperature sensor and accelerometer, the Tilt monitors your batch with a fine degree of control. The specific gravity is accurate +/- 0.002 within the Tilt's 0.990 to 1.120 range. The included thermometer is accurate +/- 1 degree F. The increased transmission power of the Tilt gives it better reception and range, allowing it to send data through large, thick-walled fermenters and it will work with most Bluetooth 4.0+ devices. The Tilt was also built with efficiency in mind. The reduced power consumption allows to use you Tilt batch after batch with the same battery. Each Tilt comes calibrated and ready to use with an included battery. Battery life is 12-24 months depending on usage. Easy to use, the Tilt makes a great addition to any brewhouse. Simply download the app, sanitize your Tilt, drop it into your fermenter, and start taking readings!

The Tilt Hydrometers comes in a rainbow of colors to brighten up your brew supplies, but these colors are not just cosmetic. Use a different color Tilt to monitor multiple batches of beer at the same time. The Tilt App will not read multiple hydrometers of the same color.

Tilt Hydrometer and Thermometer

I do like the Tilt Hydrometer. I have it integrated with my Brewfather app. I actually have 2 of them. Nice to be able to watch two beers ferment while I’m on vacation.

This one is ALMOST as awesome as the Purple one I bought!

I bought a Purple TILT and a Yellow TILT because... EAST CAROLINA UNIVERSITY!!!! All jokes aside.... Ok... let's face it... do you really NEED a TILT Hydrometer? No. But do you WANT one? YES!!! I've run through two batches so far with it and it makes the fermentation process so much more interesting and shorter! The old way - your beer sits in a closed bucket for weeks until it stops bubbling or your recipe says its ok. The new way, you just watch your TILT gravity until it slows for a day and bam... ready to rack to secondary, cold crash, bottle or keg! Case in point - I did a peppercorn saison that the recipe said will ferment for 14 days. I used an aggressive yeast that was done in 4. I would never have known this without the TILT and would probably have waited a week longer otherwise. Now I'm ready to keg today and drink it in the amount of time it would have taken just to get it out of the fermenter. When set up with a TILT Pi (the instructions on their webpage are awesome and easy to follow) it will datalog to my Brewfather app so I have everything in one place. This thing is AWESOME. You don't need it, but I promise you want it!!! Now TILT... make it communicate with a wifi-outlet or plug... hell sell your own if you want... and turn it into a temp controller!!!

Awesome device. Was accurate on SG and Temp. Wish they had an app for a PC but works fine on iPad.

I'm loving this thing. I just ordered a 2nd unit. Being able to see the temps created by the aggressive interaction of the yeast and the wort prompted me to build a glycol cooler to control the temperature of my fermentations. I cannot recommend the Tilt highly enough. I'm hoping it stands the test of time. It's a great design and works very well. Not a drop of beer is wasted with hydrometer testing. WH

So Cool!

I bought two of these (different colors) because I try to keep a couple brews in rotation. These are so easy to use and take a lot of the worry if your yeast is working out of your life. Ever watch the airlock in anticipation? If you ferment in an ale pail or stainless and can't visually see activity or even in glass and want to time dry hopping or bottling time at a specific gravity, this device is for you. I used an old phone to monitor and upload the data to a google sheet and graph S.G. and Temperature over time without opening the fermenter or taking samples (instructions can be found on the internet). I was able to track a pale ale yeast as it started fermentation in a few hours, to complete fermentation in less than 3 days. I also watch a wheat beer yeast that had a two day lag before any activity (I was preparing to pitch another yeast when it took off like a rocket). I love these!
