Not sure....

While I do like Orberon beer I'm not to sure on this clone, after reading all the raving reviews I bought the LME kit, I followed the instructions to the Tee and the beer still came out way too dark (old LME ?) the wort also had a weird twang taste after the boil and top off, fermentation was fine and held at 68 degrees the full time (us-05 yeast), tasted beer before priming for bottles and twang was still there but not as bad but the beer was bland and flavorless I did see where dry hopping was used during fermentation by some people and I'm sure that would have bumped up the flavor profile but the kit did not include any hops for this nor did it call for dry hopping, I've got another week or so to go before bottles will be ready and I'm really hoping the added Co2 will make this drinkable,... Again directions were followed exactly as written and color was too dark with a twangy taste and beer was flavorless I'm still thinking old LME is the cause , maybe the AG kit would be a better way to go... Sorry AIH I had high hopes for this kit but was a little disappointed.

Oberon dry hop

I harvested yeast from 3 16 oz cans of Oberon fermented 2 weeks on the cool side 62 degrees. I just transferred to the secondary 1.02 fg. Tasted very light not much flavor. Iím thinking about dry hopping to add more flavor. Any recommendations on what hop to use? Centennial?

Cloned perfect

I used yeast from a bottle of Oberon. The result was a virtual perfect match. If you like Oberon, this is it. I could not tell it apart from the real Oberon in a blind taste test.

Solsun Oberon clone review

Would recommend this kit, easy brew used US05 yeast fermented at garage room temp, for 2 weeks and kegged it for a week at 20 psi. A tasty home brew after a hot day in the yard...\~/...cheers

Awesome!

Perfect! I see more similarities with a German Hefeweizen than Oberon. Third batch in secondary.
