Perfect clone

I've made this 4 times now, its a real crowd pleaser. Tastes as good if not better than the real stripe. I've been using wyeast 1056. I'm a fan!

Red Stripe Clone

This was the first batch I have brewed in about 20 years. I just retired and now have time to brew up a storm. The only thing I did different was dry hop it for a week with Saaz. It turned out wonderful. My son that likes only light beers loved this. I carbonated it with 131g of corn sugar. This beer made me smile.

Red stripe altered

I have altered this recipe and we love this beer. I add 1oz magnum hops at the beginning boil. I add 1oz cascade last 5 min of boil. After 14 days in fermenter and a final gravity of 1.010 I rack and add 1oz grapefruit peel and 1oz simcoe. 14 days later rack to corney. This beer goes fast. It doesn't taste grapefruity but gives a great smell.

Tastes just like the real thing, so close, better kegged.

I brewed this extract kit for my daughter who likes Red Stripe (summertime Jamaica thing.) It spent 10 days in the primary and four weeks in the secondary -as I had to wait for a keg to free up. Kegged it this past weekend, bought a six pack of actual Red Stripe and compared yesterday with a taste test to four people. It's very very close, amazing considering I made it as an Ale and the real thing is a Lager. Everyone preferred the keg beer over the original as it tastes fresh. I would make this one again. Great job AIH.
