Fresh off the tree

Great orange flavor, perfect for summer or early fall. I chose to only put half of the orange Oil additive, and kicked it up with 12 ounces of sugar. A big hit with family and friends.

Got better with age

I agree with others here that the orange extract was way too strong when first brewed. I used this to blend with other beers I have kegged. It mellows out strong IPA's. This keg is now a year old and it really mellowed nicely and now I love it. I will brew this again and try using half of the orange extract provided.

Flavoring is overwhelming

Out of the many, many products I've bought here at AIH, this is the only one I will weigh in on as ABSOLUTELY FOUL. This wheat beer does not have the backbone to stand up to the god awful artificial flavoring of the Lorann oil that comes with the kit (all other oils have been amazing). I think this is just a one-off misadventure in home brewing, but this kit should be avoided at all costs. I'll try the Blue Moon clones in the future that use orange peel instead. AVOID; I ended up pouring it out. Heartbreaking.

Overpowering Orange Flavor

At one and a half weeks after bottling, it had an over-powering bitter orange flavor as if you were chewing a piece of orange peel. But at the three week mark, it seemed to settle down and is now very drinkable with a mild orange flavor and a slight bitter after taste. I would brew again, but only use half of the orange oil included.

Crowd pleasing beer for the summer months

This beer style is normally not my favorite, but I was pleasantly surprised by how this beer turned out. Beyond my tastes, it was a huge hit among my friends and a friendly beer tasting event that I recently participated in. It has a crisp, very well balanced taste...you get the citrus flavor without too much sweetness that you sometimes get in these beers.
