I used Go Ferm for the first time, on 3 packs of dry wine yeast about 18 months beyond the bb date. Prepared the starter 2 days in advance, feeding it with crushed grapes. I ultimately pitched into about 28 gallons of grape must. In my 20+ years of winemaking I’ve never seen such a rapid start to fermentation!
Works very well - would highly suggest using this instead of DAP at yeast pitching.
Fired up my dry yeast in a hurry. Let it rehydrate with the go ferm then added to wort. Was working by that evening.
I can't get this at any of the shops in town.
When using to make starters they take off real well when added to primary. I had some yeast past expiration and it worked great when added to this and left on a stir plate for a few hrs.
