I chose this because my homebrew club is doing historical beers in March. I wasn't really expecting a lot from this brew but I gotta say I am very pleased. Much lighter body and easier drinking than a traditional porter. Just the right amount of bitterness. You still get a some of the roasty notes associated with porters. Apparently porters were huge in England when the US was a new country and Americans made their own version of it with 6-row and corn. I used the recommended White Labs German Ale/Kolsch yeast. You have to add your own bottle of molasses and I used Brer Rabbit full flavor.
