Have been making Muscadine wine for over thirty years and have tried numerous varieties of wine yeast. For the fruity, sweet wine that Muscadines produce, CY 17 has had far and away the best results.
Yeast worked well, shipping cost a bit high for tiny little packet.
I helped do some of the product development and tested this yeast in competitions in the early 10s. Won 86 Int'l wine awards 5 Best of Shows in International Competitions for Mead as well. Highly recommend it.
Used this for a fruit cider. Sanitized thoroughly as suggested. Started fermentation warm like it suggested and kept at a steady 72∞. Produced a fruity slightly sweet cider and it didn't strip away the original fruit flavors and imparted some light bright fruit notes of its own. If you treat this yeast right, it does great work.
