Definite tangerine

I received this as a Christmas gift. This is an enjoyable recipe to follow and benefits with some patience; like any porter. Just some suggestions and reaffirmations: Watch your SG when dealing with the puree. I brewed during the winter months and temperature of fermentation was on the low end; causing higher bottle carbonation. Ease up on the tangerine. Like the other reviewer said, at full strength it overpowers the blueberry. This recipe benefits with age. Definite difference between 3 and 6 month point. Overall great recipe: Caramel tone of the porter with a tangerine slam. Once the tangerine and hops clear a nice subtle tone of blueberry remains.

Its pretty Awesome

Its a pretty nice porter it has a lot of dunking grains in the extract kit. The O.G. was in the 1.030's witch seemed weak I talked to someone at AIH and they pretty much said its a two step. I guess when the Blueberry puree goes in for the secondary and it gets a boost from that, that it some how should be added to low O.G. numbers. Now that I have it finished it tastes quite good. For suggestions for future buyers I would say go a little easy on the tangerine oil its a bit strong the blueberry flavorings seem good. I think overall its a good beer to make I think it may be a little weak in ABV but I could be wrong. I am looking forward to seeing other opinions I wanted to get the first one in there for the others looking at this kit. I am quite happy with specially since I caught a sale on it and cashed in some points for $10 more off.
