Description

400 Micron Stainless Hop Filter - 6" x 14"

Don't worry about messy hop remnants any more! This hop filter is made of 400 micron stainless steel mesh and features tabs on the rim to attach to the side of a kettle and a strip across the top to serve as a handle. The tight mesh contains all vegetal hop matter in place while the hops oils can fully diffuse into your wort. With a capacity of 254 cubic inches, this filter is great for using with 10 gallon batches of beer.

Making life easier

There are some things that just make life easier. This is one of them. I use it for my 10 gallon boils, and it is so nice compared to burning your fingers retrieving mesh bags. Cleaning is super easy. I use it with leaf and pellet hops and both work great. It seems built well. We will see how long it will last with use.

Hop screen filter

Great job keeping most of the pelletized hops out of the wort. Fits my 10 gallon boil pot perfectly.

Good, but a bit large

Overall, this works as it should. I brew on the Anvil Foundry 10.5 and it's a bit large for the brew pot. This is especially true when you need to keep this in and sanitize the wort chiller at the same time (not the basket's fault). I'm having to pull the basket out, put the wort chiller in, then replace the basket. It is a little precarious because the basket holds wort in the hop matter, so it drips everywhere and the whole thing is hot. I purchased it because of its length but really could use one that is half the diameter. Cleaning is a little difficult, but not impossible.

So far so good

Used this for one brewing session. It worked well. Plenty of space for the hops to dance in the boil. No bags to fill and tie and throw away.
