These cubes are all the same size, perfectly toasted, and have minimal debris/dust as packaged. If youíre going to soak them in whisky before adding them to secondary, I strongly advise to begin the soaking a full week (minimum!) before you need them. The wood really begins to open up after 10 days of full immersion in the whisky, making the cubes swell ever so slightly, indicating their impending readiness for immersion into your brew. To get the most out of your oak cubes I strongly recommend using a good single malt whisky (ìScotchî as you heathens call it!) and keeping your corn/rye bourbons for starting fires or cleaning stubborn stains. Great oak cubes. Can be used several times. Re-char them with a steel pan and a small gas hand torch or method of your choice.
