I ordered 11 of these to replace my 2 piece ball valves on my three vessel system (easier to open and clean). I opened all of them upon arrival and glad I did! Full of dirt and machine oils. As you are supposed to clean any manufactured equipment for cleaning before use I did but it was noticeably dirtier and stickier with machine oil than ive seen from other equipment i got. I soaked the valves all taken apart in alkaline brewers wash for about 30 mins then rinsed, then wiped off and still didnít feel comfortable so I then boiled water and soaked them in a pot full of boiled water and dish soap. Hopefully that is enough to get rid of the manufacture dirt and oil. There were small rust spots found on the inside of a couple of the valves that I have to scrub with Barkeepers friend. When looking closely at the parts, there are scratches and chips in the metal on some of the internal metal parts. Not a concern as this is hot side but you can tell that this is made in a mass manufactured way without a brewer in mind.
This is the third ball valve I've ordered while expanding my system. They work great, simple to dismantle and reassemble.
This is a great ball valve for the price. The main body is stainless. Easy to take apart and clean. Fast shipping.
I bought 3 of these valves and when I received them I took them apart to clean. The first 2 were fine and I had no issues. On the 3rd valve 2 of the nuts would not come off and those bolts broke. I had to go buy a couple of stainless bolts and nuts to replace them.
Found out the hard way that this valve is not all stainless steel. Set it to soak in some PBW, when I came back an hour later, lots of rust was forming on the valve stem and the nuts and bolts. I had to tear it all apart and clean it up with a bronze brush.
