This carboy is best used for secondary fermentation of 6 gallon batches of beer or wine. The carboy is completely nonporous, making it easy to clean and sanitize. Glass fermenters are preferred to plastic because the plastic is easily scratched and can harbor bacteria that is difficult to remove.

Glass easy to clean, non absorbent

Stout construction. Good price. I like glass better than anything plastic since plastic always seems to absorb a little of what you put in it or give off some slight odor. Get a plastic milk crate for each carboy, makes it easier to transport, keep from breaking, and put carboy upside down in it to drain after cleaning.
