Oktoberfest / Marzen Recipe Kit

The first Oktoberfest took place in 1810, to celebrate the wedding of the Bavarian Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese. The people of Munich were invited to celebrate, and ever since Oktoberfest has been a hit! This Oktoberfest is a rich amber / mahogany in color. Vienna and Munich Malts add a nice depth and complexity. With notes of light toasted malt, along with toffee and caramel. The flavor is malt forward with a toasted aspect, and just enough hop character to balance.

Good recipe

This is one of my favorites!

This has easily been the best extract kit I've done. Octoberfest isn't my favorite style of beer but this one came out very tasty and I'll definitely brew this one again, regardless the time of year!!

Absolutely delicious with Lutra

Just made this, used Lutra Kveik yeast and a BrewVint yeast fuel capsule for healthy (and quick!) fermentation. It fermented in about a week(!!) with zero temperature control, pitched at 85F, and after 2ish weeks of aging/carbonating in a keg is absolutely delicious. Would definitely buy again!

My favortite Oktoberfest

I love this kit. Every July I brew it as a lager and it is great for the Fall. Love the malt flavor and the lager yeast leaves give it nice character.

Extremely tasty!

This was my second batch of beer I've ever brewed and couldn't be more tickled pink about the results. Didn't lager, just two weeks at 65F. Out of all of the commercially/microbrew produced Oktoberfest beers I've tried, I probably dislike 75% of them. Just not to my personal preference. I took a chance on this kit when there was a $25 sale. But I can say that this brew is one of the best tasting Oktoberfest biers I've ever had. (There's probably a little bias since I brewed it myself.) Of course, if you prefer Oktoberfest beers that taste like the 75% that I don't like, you may not find this one to your preference. Some might find that this leans more like an American Amber than some of those other Oktoberfest beers, and some of the reviews say they might drink it year round.
