I have used these Madagascar vanilla beans several times now and the flavor contained in them is unsurpassed. I slice longitudinally and add to the secondary. Very nice, smooth flavor.
I slice these vanilla beans the long way, cut them into pieces and soak them in vodka for a week and then add the vanilla beans and vodka to the secondary fermenter for 2 weeks. Great addition to a stout, porter or any beer where you are looking to impart a vanilla flavor. I use these vanilla beans along with cocoa nibs, a pound of lactose and 2 drams of LorAnn cherry flavoring when brewing my chocolate covered cherry stout.
Great price but beans were small and a little dried out.
