In the process of making my second batch. A huge favorite with all my friends. Especially my Irish ones! Authentic and smooth! A real crowd pleaser.
Although I do full mash about half the time I really enjoy partial mash recipes, especially one's that turn out this good. I really enjoyed the simplicity of the recipe. As an FYI I used a fastfermenter and it took close to 2.5 weeks to start clearing after two cleaning of the yeast ball. I used irish moss at the end of the boil and added clarityferm (I'm GF but can drink clarityferm beers), so I expected it to clear quicker, but nope. Slightly cloudy at bottling but after three days the beer had cleared and my test bottle was delish. Definitely not a hoppy beer, but hoppy is not my preference. Good flavor, deep, dark red, looks almost stout in the glass. Will give it another week for the next taste test.
I made this for my second beer. Very refined, clean, sweet, but yet hoppy. It's complex and full bodied. This has been a hit with each and every person I have given a bottle to. Amazing. Will def order again.. well I did actually already, but again!
Damn good job AIH! This is the only beer I have made so far that my non-beer-drinking wife loved!
