Cask itself was fine, after I left it soak for a few days it stopped leaking around the heads. The spigot however dried out and cracked around the spout after a couple months and I lost about 3L worth of a very nice spirit. (yes, I used a rubber mallet and cloth with the spigot). AIH doesn't sell the spigots so had to pay about $20 elsewhere after shipping. Would give it a 4 star rating if it hadn't cost me twice what I paid for it between the lost spirit and replacement spigot.
Be prepared not to be wowed. It's C quality at best. Its taken a week with filling it with water everyday and I think its finally sealing up. Still hesitant to fill with the good stuff.
Sealed up just fine in two days, left water in it for a couple more. It works and seems well made.
Great barrel! Easy to condition and no leaks so she now has white rum aging in it.
Ordered 2 kegs. Neither came with bung or spigot, so both pretty much useless. It's been a couple of weeks but unfortunately no word back from AIH. Bummer.
