I bought this kettle for stepping up to 10 gallon batches. I debated getting the premium version with riveted handles and a tri-clad bottom but decided to go with this one instead. It seems very well built and I have been happy with it so far. All the welds look good and the volume marks are easy to read. I am glad I went with this one vs. the more expensive kettle as it let me save some $$ for grain and yeast costs.
I've been looking for a 16gal pot for a hot liquor tank and I'm really happy to have found this 15gal on sale! Crazy good price for all that it offers (stamped gallon incr, two bulkhead ports welded). It arrived in two days but unfortunately not in time for my wee heavy brew day. The welds are excellent, no leaks. The walls are sorta thin but this is fine as it cuts down on the weight (my 20gal pot is twice as heavy). The handles are welded and I think the lid is plenty sturdy. The bottom is single ply and that's ok for heating water, I'm fine with that. I'm really happy to have bought this at such a great price and it is certainly worth the money. If you are interested in this 15gal pot I recommend you get it before it goes off sale!!
Bought two of these and they are working great. The welds are sturdy, no leaks at the thermometer or outlet valve and they feel sturdy. Lids are a little flimsy and one had some bends but they're fine for sparge/mash/boil and I like how they set when you flip them over, I can put stuff there while waiting for temps. I got the false bottom also and it's very snug - fits one pot just right, the other not as well. With the false bottom I need to add an extra gallon to my mash (for 30 lb of grain). Great value!
