SafAle US-05 Fermentis Dry Ale Yeast

Fermentation Temp Range (°F): 60-72
Apparent Attenuation Range (%): 73-77
Flocculation: Medium-Low
Alcohol Tolerance: 11%

Pitching/Fermentation: Sprinkle the yeast in minimum 10 times its weight of sterile water or wort at 25 to 29°C (77 to 84°F).
Leave to rest 15 to 30 minutes.
Gently stir for 30 minutes, and pitch the resultant cream into the fermentation vessel.
Alternatively, pitch the yeast directly in the fermentation vessel providing the temperature of the wort is above 20°C (68°F). Progressively
sprinkle the dry yeast into the wort ensuring the yeast covers all the surface of wort available in order to avoid clumps. Leave for 30 minutes,
then mix the wort using aeration or by wort addition.

Notes: American ale yeast producing well balanced beers with low diacetyl and a very clean, crisp end palate. Forms a firm foam head and
presents a very good ability to stay in suspension during fermentation.

Multipurpose

I have used US-05 yeast for years. It's a good neutral, general purpose yeast. Recommended.

Great All Around Yeast

This is my favorite yeast to use for all of my ales. I have used liquid vials and smack packs but those can be temperamental about temperature. The SafAle is never like that, it will start in a wide temperature range and happily ferment in it too. I wouldn't use it if I did not like the flavor profile. It has a flavor profile that goes well with pale ales, through caramely grain bills, and into darker ales. I highly recommend this yeast for a no fuss fermentation and a great clean flavor profile that lets your hops and grain shine through.

Never a disappointment

US-05 is an excellent multi-purpose workhorse. My last three batches, all different styles, have all started fermenting within 12 hours of pitch.

Works Well

I've used this yeast in my last two beer recipes and it has worked well.
